The structure in Moucherotte was built on a mountain peak in the Vercors at an altitude of 6230 feet. It is a new generation meteorological station in the form of a radar tower which had to overcome major structural and technical challenges. The steel structure had to be as slim as possible and 100% prefabricated so that it could be delivered and assembled by helicopter, and once assembled it had to withstand strong winds, ice and snow.
