This redevelopment project in Saint-Barthélemy de Vals is an example of the conversion of a former community centre into social housing for young and old, including a flat for single mothers. The project was planned and built in such a way that future residents will benefit from barrier-free and thermally efficient flats. The identity of the town centre will also be harmoniously preserved in terms of urban development. The conversion of existing buildings will have to take on a higher priority in future housing policy in France, as the ban on sealing will increasingly restrict further urban sprawl in the surrounding area.
