Décines is the prototype of our intergenerational housing development ‘ Récipro-Cité ’, located in the city centre of this suburb of Lyon. The aim is to facilitate good living and the conditions for an active neighbourhood. The project offers living spaces close to nature, designed to maintain a ‘good’ distance between private and semi-public areas, thus creating a good neighbourhood and facilitating intergenerational shared activities such as gardening, DIY and fitness. The aim was also to create the conditions that allow families to avoid spending money on services they provide themselves (childcare, leisure, food). The model of this residential complex was already shown at the World Expo in Shanghai in 2010, which was held under the motto ‘better city - better life’.
