This bold project for a single-family home is located directly on the lake and is inspired by the boathouses located nearby on the shore.  The simple architecture will enable the owner to carry out a large part of the project himself. The old house, which could not be preserved, provides valuable building materials, such as the wooden beams.

The thoughtful use of simple materials gives the house a timeless, comfortable feel. The living areas are designed to combine privacy with a warm welcome.  Large bay windows to the north overlook the lake and pool, and to the south the cactus-lined courtyard. Depending on the weather, skylights flood the interior rooms with natural light when the sun is shining, or bring the intimate sound of crackling raindrops when it rains.
